Francesca Smith - Commodore

Francesca Smith joined PYC with husband (Staff Commodore) McKenzie Smith in 2000 upon moving to Petaluma from Southern California. Francesca served as club photographer, chair of the audit committee and then Director for two years before becoming Rear Commodore in 2008.  Francesca began boating 25 years ago in Southern California. The family now enjoys cruising the River and exploring the Bay and Delta waters aboard “Paige One,” a 29’ Chris Craft Catalina berthed in the Petaluma Marina. Francesca and Mac have two children in college.



 

Diana Holmes - Vice Commodore

   Diana Holmes was born and raised outside Dublin in Ireland. Her Mother is from Northern Ireland, and her Father who was a jockey was from England. She has two sisters and a brother, all presently living in the US.  She has one married daughter who  lives in the Bay Area.
    Diana taught English in the Berlitz School of Languages in Italy, worked for a public relations firm in London, worked in Germany, and then moved to the United States. After getting a degree in Equine Science, she ran the office at Pegasus Ranch, a thoroughbred racehorse farm on Lakeville Highway in Petaluma for many years.
    The Pied a Mer is an antique wooden cruiser, one of Diana’s two boats. The Pied a Mer has recently been restored by her and her husband Joe Jackson (www.piedamer.org). Their other boat, Branwen is a 1978 37” C & L Trawler that they are currently restoring.
    Diana and her husband became members of the Petaluma Yacht Club in 2005 and she was Event Coordinator in 2007.



 

 

Linda Blue - Rear Commodore

 Linda Blue grew up in Sacramento, a prime location to enjoy boating and water sports in Folsom Lake, the American River, the Sacramento River and Delta.  She moved to the Bay Area to attend UC Berkeley where she enjoyed sailing and wind surfing in the Bay.  Her best memories on the water were while living in Amsterdam when she would sail with her friends until 11:00PM during the light of the long summer days and cruise the canals in flat bottom antique metal boats in winter.  Linda was a lifeguard and played Water Polo at UC Berkeley and for the City of Amsterdam. 
 
Linda has been employed in Medical Sales and Marketing for the past 8 years  previously working in athletic marketing, grant management, high tech international marketing and sales. She is a Marketing and Business Management Consultant.  Linda lives with her husband Forest, and children Bella (6) and Elliott (4) in Petaluma.  She enjoys cruising from the Delta Loop to Sacramento in her Sea Ray which is currently docked at Oxbow Marina.


 

Lynda McGuire - Treasurer

    Lynda McGuire and husband Jim, have been members of PYC since 2006 and currently own Toranaga, a 40’ trawler. Lynda has served as Treasurer since 2007.
    Before joining PYC, Lynda was the founder and president of a telecommunications technical recruiting firm representing large companies throughout California. Recently retired, she now enjoys watercolor painting and, of course, cruising around the Bay Area and Delta with her husband Jim.


 

Judith Comstock - Secretary

Judith Comstock has joined PYC with husband Walter Wilson in 2009. She owned her first sailboat in Santa Barbara, CA in 1985. Since then she has owned many other sailboats, raced to the Channel Islands with fellow Santa Barbara Yacht Club members, co-chaired a SBYC committee for fundraising, was co-founder and first Commodore of the Twain Harte Yacht Club and continues to love the water and her new home in Sonoma Wine Country. She is currently “between boats”.
