VC Report: April 27th is Opening Day on the Bay.

RC Report: Spring Leadership Conference is March 22, at the Richmond Yacht Club. Guests will be Rear Admiral Bone of the US Coast Guard. Bring your bar questions, a representative from ABC will be there.

 

PICYA Secretary. Minutes were approved. The past secretary is leaving copies of her new book with PICYA.

 

Yacht Club Reports

Coyote Point YC: Thank you for attending meeting at their clubhouse. Mariposa-HP YC: On Sunday, August 10th,  planning a Giants vs Dodgers baseball game. For a limited 100 lucky  attendees, avail yourself to: free parking at their clubhouse, champagne brunch, tickets to the game, all for $35.

 

RBOC (recreational boaters’ lobbying arm) Linda Vinson: Thank you for your donations and continuing support.

 

The Federal EPA is considering that all private vessels be required to file and pay discharge permit of all fluids, including engine cooling water. Presently, all private vessels are exempt, but the EPA is considering rescinding this exemption.  RBOC’s national boater advocate, BOATUS, seeks to continue these exemptions through bills HR2550, S-1578, and S-2067.

Yearbook: Yearbook has gone to the printer. If it goes to plan, copies will be available at the April delegate meeting, April 7th.

 

Three $2500 scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors, or continuing college students.. Deadline is June 30th. More details will be on the website, soon.
