2007 was launched while
Puttin On the Ritz! What a nice way
to ring in the new year with a beautifully planned, executed and creative event
by Diana Holmes and her team. Everyone was dressed to the “Nines” and the décor,
the food and the music were all just right. Thank you Diana. If the rest of 2007
is as good as that party, we can look forward to a very enjoyable year.
Our
first general meeting of the new year was well attended and lively and we
managed to keep it relatively short. Lots of good information was passed on by
our officers and committee chairs. Watch your newsletter and our website for
details of cruises and events that are planned and the yacht clubs that have
scheduled cruise-ins.
A
hearty welcome to Steve and Tina Powell as new members and Carrie Zurney as a
new domestic partner with Tom Griffith.
I
would also like to thank one of our long time members and former commodore,
Harold Niles, for being our mailman for over six years. Harold has quietly
collected our mail from the post office and delivered it to our club and many
members were probably unaware that he was doing it. Harold has retired from duty
so a hearty thanks for the dedication Harold.
