GENERAL MEETING MINUTES
August 3, 2007
Meeting was called to order at 2023 by Commodore Corbett. Commodore acknowledged the Sleeps and Diana Holmes for the wonderful dinner and invited members to help with clean-up.
Guests: Gloria Roberts introduced Mike Scott, prospective
member at his second meeting. Dave
introduced friends who are active Navy personnel stationed in Monterey and a
guest who is working for the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

Minutes: Minutes are accepted as written.
Treasurer: Treasurer reports all is well and nothing remarkable to report. Delta Yacht Club prepayment has been made.
Rear Commodore: Heavy visitor schedule in July. August cruise-in schedule is extensive. Master Mariners cruise-in will include dinner hosted by Diane. Clubhouse has been invaded by ants. Pest control has been called in.
Vice Commodore: Vice Commodore Roberts is in the Sierras. Bar is in good shape. $4,000 in bar checking account after bills paid. Water leak on gun tubing has been repaired. November 3rd is the date for the Installation. Rear Commodore advised that he will be conducting an analysis of bar prices, costs, products and asked for input from the membership.
Commodore: No report.
Events: Dinghy Dine-Around was a wonderful success and so much fun. Thanks to the Sea Scouts for the tender. Wonderful surprise at Sweetwater Distillery for wine, vodkas, cheese and grappa. September fund-raiser – date to be determined. Pre-Delta party, August 5th. Everyone is invited. Commodore Corbett is hosting. Golf tournament will be in mid-September in Sebastopol, date will be announced soon.
Cruises: August Delta Fever Cruise starts August 11th. First stop is at Ebony Yacht Club in Antioch who will be hosting a dinner. 14-15 boats signed up for the Delta YC which will cover the deposit.
Membership: Gloria Roberts has an application in process.
Sunshine: Nancy Keller reported that Harold Niles is at Kaiser in Santa Rosa and showing improvement after suffering a heart attack last weekend. The Jones’ will bring a defibrillator on the Delta cruise.
Galley: Ant issue has been dealt with.
Newsletter: Alta asked if anyone had received a newsletter with pages missing. Larry & Meg Rosenfeld will be on the cover of the August newsletter and asked for others to volunteer their stories.
Advertising: Jim Becker will bill pro-rated for ads running from mid-year.
Ship’s Store: No report.

PICYA Representative: Position is open. Please contact Commodore Corbett if you are interested in attending.
Unfinished Business: Dock gates are now locked from dusk to dawn. Automatic mechanism. Code will be changed periodically. Police and private security has extended their security patrols through the end of the summer. The Board has received input from member Barry Parkinson regarding proposed Club by-laws proposals. Proposal is scheduled to be presented to the membership at the September general meeting.
New Business:
Good of the Club: Rear Commodore Swift reports a free sailboat available if picked up at the Berkeley Marina tomorrow. The Powells are still looking for a power boat. Sunday is the Mayor’s Boat Ride – human powered. August issue of Bay & Delta Yachtsman noted the improvements to the Petaluma docks security. Comments were mostly favorable. Shirley Alys volunteered to take care of the 50/50 raffle next month. Gloria Roberts has updated the Bar Duty Roster which will be emailed and printed in the newsletter.
